There were two parts to my dream. I woke up at some point and when I went back to sleep I was in the same dream. The part of the first dream that I recall was being on an airplane. I do remember that I was leaving Brasil and heading back to the United States. If I am correct, I think I was heading back to Los Angeles. It felt as if I was sitting in first class. I recall chopping it up, meaning talking casually with a couple people in my area. When the plane finally landed, I went to the baggage claim. I noticed that I was missing a couple of bags. I thought I had all my bags at first. It felt as if I was missing s small light brown carry on suitcase. The suitcase didn’t have the handle or wheels on it like the modern suitcases. This one was old school with the metal buckle in the front. I recall after I couldn’t find my bag walking to the customer service office or baggage claim office. I woke up after this and when I when I went back to sleep I recall being in a radio station. It felt very familiar and comfortable since I worked at a radio station in high school and college. If I recall correctly, it also felt like this was somehow connected to ESPN. When I walked out the radio station it appeared that I was in a cafeteria. The cafeteria was packed and in a large space. I recall sitting at a table in the back by radio station. There were people initially at the table where I sat. In front of me at another table was Serita. She and I were in a relationship in college and she was pregnant with my child until her mother took her to plan parenthood to have an abortion. She is not pregnant in the dream. For a moment it was difficult for me to differentiate if I was in high school, college, or in the present. I remember going to get some food and when I returned to the table I was sitting everyone had left, and I was the only one sitting there. As I was sitting there contemplating about where I was I was also thinking about Serita. I wanted to go speak with her. However, I didn’t know if she would recognize, if it was really her, and a multitude of other thoughts. At some point she and I were on the city bus leaving the campus and heading somewhere. It felt as if we were heading back to the baggage check. At least that is what I thought since I was still missing the bag from the airport. I think in the previous dream I was told to come and see if they found my bag. While Serita was speaking to me on the bus I noticed that she was subsequently taller than me. In waking reality I’m about an inch or two taller than her. In the dream she was like four to five inches taller than me. I also don’t recall what she was specifically talking to me about. I was simply glad that we were talking casually. I thought about our relationship in waking reality, which was intimate, but this experience felt innocent, like two platonic friends, without any history or baggage from the past. We eventually got off the bus and began walking to our destination. I do recall that we had to walk up a hill and there was a building. It didn’t look like the airport in the previous dream but I had a feeling that is where my bag was located. I don’t remember if she was heading there as well. But like I said, we were walking in the same direction. The hill was sparse with grass with some areas that were green and others where it was brown because it was dry. There were trees around the area. It felt as if I was back in Connecticut or somewhere on the east coast like Maryland. When we began walking that is when I woke up.
This dream embodies a rich tapestry of symbolism reflecting your subconscious mind's current themes, emotions, and potential concerns. Let's dissect it in parts to understand its significance:
Part One: The Airplane Journey
Airplane and Travel: The act of flying internationally from Brazil to Los Angeles may symbolize a significant transition or change in your life. Airplanes often signify moving to a new phase, exploring new opportunities, or longing for freedom and change. The first-class setting indicates a desire for comfort and luxury or feeling recognized and valued in your transition.
Missing Luggage: Luggage represents your burdens, responsibilities, or important aspects of your life. Missing your luggage suggests that you're feeling anxious, unprepared, or worried about leaving behind a piece of yourself or something important in this transition. The specific description of the suitcase being old-school could imply unresolved issues or past responsibilities that you feel disconnected from.
Part Two: The Radio Station and Cafeteria
Radio Station: Given your past experiences with radio stations in high school and college, this setting might symbolize a return to familiar territory. It signifies a connection to past skills, interests, or a longing for that comforting familiarity.
Cafeteria Environment: A busy cafeteria represents social interactions and the busyness of life. Seeing people from your past, like Serita, indicates unresolved emotions, memories, or relationships that are surfacing in your mind. The confusion about being in high school, college, or the present suggests uncertainty about your current path or where you stand in life.
Serita: Encountering Serita, who played a significant role in your past, may reflect a longing for closure, reconciliation, or understanding. Her not being pregnant and the platonic conversation indicate a desire to address these past relationships healthily, devoid of past complications or emotional baggage.
Bus Ride: Traveling with Serita on a bus may represent shared journeys or experiences. Buses can symbolize communal experiences and the interconnections among people in your life.
The Journey Up the Hill
Walking Up the Hill: This act can represent working towards a goal, overcoming obstacles, or striving to reach an understanding or closure. Hills often denote challenges, and making this journey with someone signifies companionship and support on this path.
Changed Setting: Finding yourself on a hill with an unexplored building hints at meetings with unfamiliar challenges or returning to something you hadn't previously realized. The mixed greenery and dry terrain suggest a blend of growth and desolation in your life, indicating areas you've nurtured and others that might need attention.
General Interpretations:
Growth and Reflection: This dream reflects a blend of past memories, current reflections, and future aspirations. It encourages acknowledging past experiences and relationships, understanding their impact, and moving forward with newfound awareness and clarity.
Transitions and Closure: The luggage and Serita's presence symbolize the need for closure and the acceptance of certain phases or relationships in your life. It urges you to reconcile these with your present existence.
Communication and Exploration: Conversations and the journey imply a need for clear communication and exploration of new or repressed parts of yourself. The dream invites you to explore these elements without fear, supported by a sense of familiarity and internal strength.
This dream acts as a bridge between your past and your present, urging you to embrace change, seek closure, and march forward with a balanced view of your life.
